Could Poldark season 3 premiere against Britain’s Got Talent final?

Poldark season 3 premiere air

While one of the benefits to Poldark season 3 may be getting away from Victoria competition, there could be another threat brewing.

While not confirmed as of yet (hence why the official premiere date is not updated with it), the Aidan Turner series may air its first episode on Sunday, June 4. This is according to a new report from the Express, which cites “early planning” as a source for what could happen. The issue with that is that this date could in turn be the final for Britain’s Got Talent this season, where an act will be declared the winner with one of the largest audiences in Britain watching.

The bad news with this, obviously, is that no show wants to air against the Britain’s Got Talent final. It tends to steamroll shows since it’s the sort of thing you really have to watch live in the event you want an understanding as to what is happening.

However, at the same time there is certainly good news in that Britain’s Got Talent is only one week, so there will be roughly two months more where Poldark would not have to contend with that competition. In turn, the show could get some stronger ratings through the rest of the summer on its way to season 4 premiering presumably in 2018.

The best news of all is simply the fact that a Poldark season 4 is already official, and with that, there is not some overt concern that the show is going to get canceled in the midst of a season. This safety net is the sort of thing that just about every show wishes that they had as a form of boosting confidence and having the freedom to tell more interesting, creative stories.

On a different but still related note, it is easy to think that Ross Poldark would get a Golden Buzzer on Britain’s Got Talent just for some of his battle skills alone … and probably for some other reasons, depending on who’s sitting at the judges’ table.
