Lena Luthor's new look

Supergirl season 2 episode 22 is airing on The CW Monday, and Lena Luthor’s new look should raise a few eyebrows out there.

What does it mean? Well, there are already many conspiracy theories floating around the internet regarding whatever sort of plan Rhea may have for her former colleague. She went to Lena promising a way to help both parties, only to betray her and make it clear that her main focus is more trying to find an interesting way to help herself. Now that Lena knows the truth, she’s going to be at the mercy of Rhea and everyone else in Daxam.

There are already many a rumor out there suggesting that Lena will be forced into some sort of marriage situation by Rhea as a further means to getting what she wants — otherwise known as destroying the entire planet as a form of getting revenge on Mon-El for his decision to stay on Earth with Kara. There are people who are vengeful, and there is someone willing to kill their own husband and inflict further chaos just out of bitterness.

How in the world do you stop someone like Rhea, who seems to have many ships from Daxam flying about in National City? Supergirl may need to forge some surprising allies in order to find a way to stop them, and that may prove difficult in its own since her moral compass could be completely upended. As a reader, this is tremendously exciting since you do want to see a certain degree of chaos on the show. That is in part a big reason why it remains so captivating.

The only thing that is guaranteed at present is that this episode won’t be the final time that you see Lena on the show, given that she is going to be a regular for the third season. That’s no guarantee that she will be a part of every episode, but at least she’s not getting killed off here! The thing that’s worth hoping for is that this experience is not so transformative that it turns her into someone completely different from who she is right now.

What do you think Lena’s role in these final episodes of season 2 will be? Share some of your thoughts with a comment!
