Blindspot season 2 finale spoilers: Death, Jane, Weller, and Shepherd

We have some of the first Blindspot season 2 finale spoilers leading into next week’s big finish — starting with a reminder that the show’s renewed! There isn’t a reason to worry about whether or not the show comes back. Instead, the focus here can just be on the story itself … which is good, given that there is a LOT to focus on as there is some potential darkness coming. The team will still be reacting from a loss, and in general, everyone will find their personal and professional lives at a crossroads.

Before the renewal earlier today, every indication about this finale was that it could have functioned as a series finale. There is some closure, but there is also still a tease as to what the future of the show could be. This is the good news now — you can watch this hour and feel pretty confident that the writers will be starting to set up some more story for the fall / midseason / whenever the show returns. All indications suggest that a final showdown with Shepherd is nigh, presuming that this is the end of the road for the character. We do know that for us, it’s fairly hard to imagine this particular story arc coming back and being a key component in the story to come.

Blindspot season 2 finale synopsis – “As the FBI copes with a tragedy, Weller (Sullivan Stapleton) finds himself at the center of a surprising event. Jane (Jaimie Alexander) faces an uncertain future.”

One way or another, expect an exciting, thrilling conclusion that gets your hair standing on end. Also, let’s hope for an episode that generates some further discussion and gets people talking about the show over the course of the summer. Remember, we don’t want season 3 to be the last season of the show! Here’s to hoping that there is a season 4 that happens down the line. We’re not going to hesitate thinking about that now.
