Poldark season 3: See Aidan Turner, Eleanor Tomlinson at press event!
If you look below, you can see a new image of the two actors from the press screening of the event yesterday. (We are assuming that the entirety of the event was not done at a 45-degree angle — geometry humor!) This was a chance for many within the UK to see some early footage of the season for the first time, and to start to engage their own audiences about a great show that is bringing a lot of drama to the table a little bit later in the summer.
We imagine that there will be many more appearances for the two over the course of the coming months — hopefully, that is also going to include some US promotion, as well! (To be fair, we don’t believe that Poldark will be premiering stateside until a little bit later in the fall.)
This news comes out following reports over the past few days that Poldark moved its timeslot from the fall to the summer in order to avoid competition from another period series in Victoria over on ITV. If this is the case, the only thing that we can say as a response to that is good on them! You want to do the best thing for your show, and it never made a whole lot of sense for these networks to air two very similar shows at the same time against each other. Instead, the only thing that this effectively did was create a situation in which neither show was able to reach its full potential. Now, viewers won’t have to choose and both can potentially receive better ratings as a result.
Now, let’s hope that there is something more akin to a full Poldark season 3 trailer released in the near future, given that to date, all we’ve really seen from the show is a promo that aired following the season 2 finale that was more about setting the aesthetic for the upcoming story.
