Scorpion season 3 episode 24: Walter and Paige; marooning mayhem
Before we dive too much deeper into this story, let’s take a moment to analyse precisely how we got here. Just two episodes ago, Walter fired Paige from the team after learning that she had kept from him that he had confessed his love to her while struggling to stay alive in space. (He had no recollection of such memory for a long time.) Meanwhile, after the wedding last week Walter confessed that he had fired her largely out of fear, and that he was still in love with her. In turn, she admitted that she was in love with him. Given that Walter had just fired her, she was really more understanding than we would have expected anyone to be, but to be fair she has been on the team to help everyone work through their social blocks and this is one of Walter’s.
While on the plane to French Polynesia for the latest “mission” (which doubles as Toby and Happy’s honeymoon), the two seemed ready to make things work as a couple. Here is the problem now — The ironic honeymoon period of their relationship could be over in the matter of hours. They’ve just decided to be together, but they’re not getting the ordinary experience of getting to date. Instead, they are stranded on a deserted island with the entirety of the team — they never made it to the destination because of a plane crash. This will be a huge test of their relationship, and we’re not all that confident that this is going to be a winning one. They’ll be burning up under the sun, stressed, and not have any ideas on how to get back home.
Do we think that Walter and Paige could break up so soon after they were brought together? Probably not, but the final two episodes of the show should be further proof that dating is not going to come easy for the two of them. This is just something that you should be very much prepared for in advance of these episodes airing. (Hey, if the relationship was smooth sailing, would Scorpion be anywhere near as interesting as a show?)
