Riverdale finale spoilers: How will Cheryl react to Jason Blossom reveal?

The Jason Blossom reveal on Riverdale this week was even more devastating than you could have imagined going in to the episode and actually felt a bit more like a season finale. After all, who ever thought in a million years that we would be seeing Clifford Blossom be the person responsible for what happened to Jason? It was shocking, and that is putting it mildly.

Of course, many different characters are going to have different reactions to what happened to Jason, and that it was his own father who did it before eventually killing himself. The person this will impact the most is Jason’s own sister Cheryl, who now has to find a way to move forward. As executive producer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa said in a new interview with Entertainment Weekly, it’s going to take her a little bit of time for her to get past what happened:

“She’s not in a good place … She loved her brother, and to finally have the closure of knowing who killed him, but knowing it was someone she shared a home and life with, as chilly as it might be, is devastating to her. The prospect of what faces her, which is a life alone with Penelope, is soul-crushing, so she’s in the worst place we’ve ever seen her.”

The thing that we would probably be worried about both for Cheryl and every other character on Riverdale at the moment is the simple fact that this past episode could’ve been the finale. What in the world are the writers going to do in order to top that? We have a feeling that some other characters are going to be in danger, romances could change, and we could be in a situation moving into season 2 where the chess pieces are all scattered among the board. This is a show where nothing seems to come easy for any of the characters who are involved, and we don’t exactly see that changing. Why would it after the critical and commercial success this time around?
