NCIS: Los Angeles season 8 episode 23: Could Sam Hanna hit his limit?

Sam HannaEvery person has their limits, and on NCIS: Los Angeles season 8 episode 23 airing Sunday night, Sam Hanna could hit his.

In the preview below from the upcoming episode entitled “Uncaged,” you can get a little bit of an indication as to what the story for this episode is going to be if you hadn’t heard before now. Sam’s wife Michelle is going to be captured, and with that the terms of her release are going to be incredibly complicated. Basically, these said kidnappers are going to demand the release of Sam’s own arch-nemesis Tahir Khaled (Anslem Richardson) in return for Michelle’s safety. This is the sort impossible choice that no agent wants to face, given that it marks the safety of one person against the safety of many people — if Tahir is out on the streets, how many other lives will they destroy?

For the Sam Hanna character, this should make for an outstanding story given that the bulk of the story in this episode could revolve around a key choice: Who does he protect? Can he live with upset if he doesn’t help Michelle, or if he lets Tahir run free? Is there a way to satisfy both conditions? Also, you have to worry that in order to get his wife back, Sam may cross some lines that he cannot un-cross, and show a different, more dangerous side of himself.

We do know that he’s accustomed to being in crisis at this point, even in terms of crises that directly impact his own life and those close to him. Still, that doesn’t necessarily mean that these situations are easy, and he is equipped for whatever sort of trouble is going to come his way during them. When the pressure is on and a loved one is in danger, you don’t quite know how you will react! It’s impossible to know. At least Sam is aware that he’s got the best team in the business around him, willing to help out however possible.

Meanwhile, share in the comments below what some of your expectations for this episode are. We’re certainly worried for Sam, but more so his mental health than his physical ability to stay alive. (Photo: CBS.)
