Following tonight’s finale, what is the Blue Bloods season 8 premiere date going to be? It’s not confirmed, but we can start speculating now.

The first thing to of course remind you of at the moment is that Blue Bloods has in fact already been renewed for an eighth season, so there is nothing to worry about when it comes to that. From here, the next main question is determining precisely when it is going to be back.

We think that in terms of the timeslot, Blue Bloods is locked in to Friday nights at 10:00 p.m. Eastern. It’s a tradition for many families to watch it at this time after their own family dinners, and there’s no reason to change that given that it fares incredibly well there. Here is one bit of interesting trivial for the show that’s just a fun scheduling quirk — no matter when it premieres, the show will either start earlier than it ever has or start later than it ever has. Every season so far has premiered at some point between September 23 and September 28. We should know over the course of the summer precisely when the show will be back on the air.
