Dancing with the Stars: Debunking the latest Nick Viall rumor nonsense

Nick Viall rumor

Well, it didn’t take long at all for the Dancing with the Stars – Nick Viall rumor mill to get stupid, did it? Let’s take a look at some of the nonsense out there.

In the wake of the former Bachelor being eliminated from the show on Monday night’s new episode, the tabloids have decided that they want to be especially thirsty in how they want to report on some of this. The latest pile o’ poo comes courtesy on OK! Magazine, who makes two really ridiculous claims about how Nick is feeling in the wake of being gone from the competition.

1. That he’s supposedly upset at partner Peta Murgatroyd for not putting her all into this – Dumb. It doesn’t take a lot of science to figure out that this isn’t true. Peta clearly did everything that she could; she and Nick rehearsed long hours to make this work. Peta didn’t have to be a part of this season — she recently welcomed a child, and she clearly has plenty of money. She did it because she wanted to help someone win.

One of the things that you really have to remember here is that contestants from the Bachelor franchise don’t tend to make it further than fifth place. Melissa Rycroft is an exception, but she already had a little bit of a dance background and was sailing on the country’s sympathy. Nick did just about as well as he could have this season given the competition and the fact that he’s not some extraordinary athlete or someone used to performing to a live audience.

2. That he blames Chris Soules’ arrest for bad press for him and the entire franchise – Just as dumb. Do you really think that viewers are so stupid to relate what happened with Chris to a ballroom competition? A man died as a result of the Soules accident. We don’t want to get further down this rabbit hole, but it’s clear that this is a situation that is so much more important that a silly dance competition where the winner effectively gets a sparkly disco ball on a pole.

Ultimately, Nick now gets to go back to a normal life and focus on his relationship with Vanessa Grimaldi. He had a nice run on Dancing with the Stars this season, got a bigger platform for himself, and got some more money to kickstart the next phase of his life. We don’t think that he’ll be lamenting what happened with his elimination the rest of his life.

As always, we welcome some of your thoughts in the comments below.
