Real Housewives of Atlanta reunion part 4: Is it necessary?

Real Housewives of Atlanta reunion part 4

Next week, the Real Housewives of Atlanta reunion part 4 will air on Bravo, but do we really need it based on everything to date?

The thing about the Real Housewives franchise as a whole is that it’s popular; specifically, it’s probably way too darn popular for its own good at times. Given that the network realizes that it generates big ratings, they are not altogether hesitant to milk the series for every little drop that they possibly can, even when it’s not in their best interest to do so.

In the past, we’ve felt like the three-part reunions are a little too much, given that there are often plenty of people we don’t need to hear from who get screen time. For example, look for a moment or two at some of the husbands. Do they really need to be involved in some of these? We’re not altogether sure that they do. Heck, we’d be fine to exclude some of the recurring players at times, and even some of the viewer questions that really upset the pace of the show.

If we were to have our way, we’d reduce all of the reunions to two parts and only show some of the funnier or the juicier stuff. In between this and the recent Beverly Hills reunion shows, we’ve felt that the first fifteen and final fifteen minutes of them were very good, but everything in between was stuffed full of filler and content that we really don’t care about all that much.

One final thought on this — over time, you may be asking your viewers for a little too much of a commitment having them stick around for a good half of a year to watch a show. Even if it’s not required that you watch every episode of the series to know what is coming up, that’s still a lot of content. We’ve certainly seen with a wide array of other shows over the years that there is such a thing as too much of a good thing. Less can be more, and it’s good to miss something every now and then.
