See Saturday Night Live’s Leslie Jones get tested by Dr. Phil (video)
Specifically, earlier this week on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon we had a great chance to see Jones engage in a little bit of “Truth or Lie” with someone who can judge people’s behavior a little bit better than anyone out there: Dr. Phil McGraw. There’s a good reason why he was one of the people responsible for Bull on CBS — he can read people like nobody’s business.
Therefore, in this video Leslie recounts a ridiculous story to Dr. Phil about something that allegedly happened to her while at a McDonald’s drive-thru, and Phil has to tell her whether or not it’s a true story or something that she just made up on the spot. We don’t want to ruin the results for you, but this is pretty entertaining either way. One of the other things that’s great is Leslie bringing up a certain internet meme whose name we do not utter in fear of having the quotes thrown at us like a terrible barrage.
So what do we expect from Leslie now on SNL for the rest of the season? The biggest thing that we’re hoping for is that she gets to do another Weekend Update segment, and then just does some scene-stealing work in another couple of segments. Given that this is Leslie, she’s one of those cast members that is pretty hard to project in advance. It’s really tough to know in advance what she is going to do.
What we do know with confidence is that there are three great hosts coming up the rest of the season — Chris Pine, Melissa McCarthy, and then Dwayne Johnson for the finale. It was also announced recently that we’re going to see Katy Perry on the finale as a musical guest, and with her history on the show, we have a pretty good feeling that she will turn up in a sketch or two along the way. There’s also of course potential for plenty of cameos before everything is said and done.
