Supernatural season 12 episode 19 sneak peek: Castiel rejoins Sam, Dean

Supernatural season 12 episode 19 sneak peek

We’ve got a Supernatural season 12 episode 19 sneak peek for Thursday night’s “The Future” now, and it’s fair to say this one gets meta.

Specifically, the video below sets the table for when Kelly Kline’s Baby Lucifer could enter the world, and it just so happens to be May 18 … which is of course the date for the upcoming finale. How convenient is that? A toast to the writers for finding a way to throw that in there in a clever fashion? Equally clever is the fact that this is a baby that doesn’t have to be carried to a full nine-month term, which allows them to not have to wait until the fall to get back to this. (Granted, if they did that this would be a late-term pregnancy at that point.)

Anyhow, Sam and Dean in this sneak peek are doing their best to try to track Kelly down before she gives birth, and that’s going to be one of the main story focuses for everything that is coming up. Luckily, they’re going to have a little bit of help making that happen.

Castiel is back! Misha Collins returns to the show after some time away in the sneak peek, and he makes it abundantly clear how much he wants to help the brothers out. Granted, they don’t seem to be all that enthused about seeing him at first, with much of that probably having to do with the fact that it’s pretty terrible to expect to have his help only for him to disappear in the wind without a moment’s notice. We rather feel the brothers’ pain this time. Castiel still insists that this was not a move done out of any sort of malice on his part, as he was just trying to ensure that he did what he felt was necessary. We know that he’s been in Heaven, and it should be fun over the course of this final stretch of episodes in order to learn a little bit more about what he’s been up to.

Oh, and of course there are some matters to get to before the finale pertaining to both the British Men of Letters and also Mary Winchester. Don’t count them out of the story just yet.
