Pretty Little Liars season 7 spoilers: Spencer’s hunt for Mary knowledge
We’re just one episode removed now from Spencer beginning her search for Mary knowledge on Pretty Little Liars, but where are things going to go from here? At the moment, this is certainly a fantastic question. She knows for sure now that Mary Drake is her mother, and all of a sudden, there is an entirely new world of possibilities out there for her that she never previously concerned. Yet, at the same time it’s hard for her to know one way or another if this is someone she really should invest any time in. She’s someone with a lot of secrets and a lot of darkness around her — the more that she finds, the more she may wish that she didn’t go digging nearly as much.
With all of that now said, Spencer is someone who certainly knows a thing or two about darkness at this point. All you really have to do is look over the course of the series to see that she is someone very much associated with taking on different situations — some of them life-threatening. As Troian Bellisario notes to TV Guide, there is going to be a strong pull here that makes it hard for Spencer to avoid what is going on with Mary, even if there is a part of her that is aware that such an association is probably not the best move:
“That is something that a lot of people experience when they find out who their biological mother might be. You want to know more about them. You want to know what things are similar and what things are different … That’s going to be a very strong pull even though Spencer doesn’t know if this person is ultimately dangerous or not.”
The biggest thing that we hope for with Spencer is mostly closure. She should find a way to get the information that she needs, and then move forward given that this is one of the only ways that we feel like she is really going to be happy now. Pandora’s box has been opened, and now comes the time of investigating and hoping tos ecure some answers.
