Chicago Fire season 5 spoilers: Key story for Cruz ahead

Cruz

As we get closer to the end of Chicago Fire season 5, we will see some difficult situations arise for many of the characters within Firehouse 51. What we’re most psyched about is that Cruz in particular is going to have a spotlight episode so soon to the finale.

Recently, the NBC series unveiled some of the first details about the May 9 installment entitled “Sixty Days,” one that could find Cruz in a situation where he could end up suspended. He’s going to need help in order to ensure that this doesn’t happen; for those of you who love the firefighters banding together to resolve conflicts aside from being out in the field, this episode could be for you.

The synopsis for this episode also gives you a good idea as to some of the other stories that are coming up:

“Cruz (Joe Minoso) finds himself in a bad spot when an off-duty incident begins to unravel, prompting Mouch (Christian Stolte) to step in and offer help in hopes of avoiding serious consequences from the CFD. Casey (Jesse Spencer) goes head to head with a big politician to get his measure for first responders passed. Lt. Severide (Taylor Kinney) makes life difficult for newest team member Jason Kannell (guest star Kamal Angelo Bolden) and Dawson (Monica Raymund) gets an unexpected visit from her father (guest star Daniel Zacapa).”

there are a couple of other interesting takeaways that we have from checking this out. First of all, why is Severide bothering to make life a challenge for one of the new team members? Aren’t there some other issues that he could be taking on? Meanwhile, we do think that it’s good that we are getting another opportunity to see Dawson’s father this season, given that he was such a big part of the show earlier on in the run this season; as a result of that, we do like to think that he is still fairly important to the story going on with her as she and Casey navigate their marriage and their future as we near the finale.
