MasterChef Junior season 5 episode 10 exclusive preview: Christmas in April

MasterChef Junior season 5 episode 10

Merry Christmas? Yea, it does feel weird to ask that question right now, but here we are with a new exclusive MasterChef Junior season 5 episode 10 sneak peek.

In the video below, you can see all of the remaining young home cooks take on the oh-so-difficult challenge of having to build a proper gingerbread house. It’s one thing to have a house that you make with your family, but the judges here are looking for precision out of the duos who are paired up. It’s not clear precisely what the contestants are going to get out of this, whether it be a chance to earn immunity or an opportunity to embarrass Gordon Ramsay and Christina Tosi in some other way. Odds are, this is a race against time, so they have to work together to get the gingerbread house right before the clock runs out.

Heck, it’s also not precisely clear why we are getting a Christmas-themed task in the middle of April. It’s possible that this was filmed with the expectation that it was going to air over the holidays; or, maybe the producers know that kids love gingerbread. After watching this, we certainly want to get a mug of hot cocoa and a chocolate Santa or two or three.

Consider this a challenge that we’d also fair pretty terribly at. (Add it to the list!) This is deceptively tough since you have to pipe all of the frosting into tiny cracks, while also arranging the roof properly and get all of your candies in the right spot. Also, you shouldn’t eat the candy … we feel like we’d have a really tough time with that.

Ultimately, we are a point now where the competition is fierce, given that there are only a handful of cooks left, and they’ve all done a great job of proving their mettle to Gordon and the judges. That’s good, given that things are probably only going to get harder here as they take on more and more complicated challenges.

Be sure to come back tomorrow night, as there will be a full review of this episode online over at the link here. That link is also where you can see now exit interviews with most of the recently-eliminated home cooks.
