When is Supergirl returning to The CW? Go behind the scenes

Is Supergirl on tonight

When is Supergirl returning? We understand the demand for new episodes, but the news today may not be to everyone’s liking.

Specifically, it appears as though you’re not going to get a chance to check out a new episode until Monday, April 24. That’s a long wait, but there are some details to look forward to in that department. As we recently unveiled, you’re going to have one of the biggest episodes to date for Lena Luthor at around that time, as you learn a little more news regarding her romantic history. You’ll also potentially get a chance to meet a new villain in Biomax following the first appearance of Jack Spheer.

Meanwhile, the new video below is a rather cool showcase for something else — some of the visual effects that go into making the show as awesome as it is. This brief video runs for a couple of minutes, and over the course of it you get a really good panoramic sense of everything that goes into making some of these villains as interesting / terrifying as they are. The more that we get a sense of the work that is put into some of these scenes, the easier that it is to admire them. Kudos to The CW for putting in so much effort from start to finish, especially when you remember that it’s not like this show has the biggest budget in the world. This is not like The Walking Dead or one of those other shows where they have plenty of money (at least by TV standards) to spend on walkers and crazy action sequences.

As for what exactly you can expect to see moving forward this season, one of the biggest things is merely some more showdowns. We specifically know that Rhea (Teri Hatcher) is not going anywhere in the near future, and this is something that these characters are going to be forced to combat in due time. For Mon-El in particular, he could be facing a tough struggle at the center of the life that he had, and the life that he wants to have today.

Oh, and we’re also hoping for some sort of substantial season 3 setup at some point along the way. We already know that this is coming your way later this year.
