Doctor Who season 10 episode 1 spoilers: All about Pearl Mackie’s arrival

Doctor Who season 10 episode 1

One week before the premiere, we’re starting to have some Doctor Who season 10 episode 1 spoilers to hand down!

This week, the BBC handed down some of the first details for “The Pilot,” the first episode of the show, and also the first episode to feature none other than Pearl Mackie as Bill, the new Companion for Peter Capaldi’s Doctor and someone who will play an integral role in the story to come.

For some other insight, let’s get to those details:

“Two worlds collide when the Doctor meets Bill. A chance encounter with a girl with a star in her eye leads to a terrifying chase across time and space. Bill’s mind is opened to a Universe that is bigger and more exciting than she could possibly have imagined – but who is the Doctor, and what is his secret mission with Nardole on Earth?”

We like that the episode is called “The Pilot,” since the obvious implication here is that this is going to be a start of a whole new era. We like that, since the goal is to attract new viewers to the show. That’s a part of what makes the arrival of Bill so important. She’s not someone who feels attached to the world of time and space-travel in any way. She’s a newcomer, and things will be explained to her.

This may be a little bit of an obscure analogy to some, but before the start of Final Fantasy XV there is a note that the game is for both new and older players alike. You could say the same thing about season 10. This is a season designed to entertain longtime established viewers, while also giving new fans something new to check out and enjoy. Both of these are important in their own way, and we’re excited to see what the story could now bring moving forward to everyone.

If you don’t get on board this season, we feel like season 11 is going to be bringing a new-era atmosphere in its own way given that it will have a new Doctor — unfortunately, there is no word on the casting at the moment.
