American Horror Story season 7: Billie Lourd to have major role
According to a new report coming in at the moment via Deadline, Billie Lourd, most recently of Scream Queens, is set to be a major star for the season to go along with Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters. There are no details about her role just yet, but this could be an opportunity for her to break out further as a performer after two seasons of the Ryan Murphy horror-comedy hybrid.
At present, the renewal status of Scream Queens is uncertain but we take this as even more of a sign that we aren’t going to see it back on Fox for another season. The ratings weren’t there, and we say that even in the context of Fox struggling as of late when it comes to its shows.
In the end, the thing that we are the most excited to see is what the theme for this season ends up being. At the moment, Murphy’s said that the story could revolve around the Presidential Election; what we’ve learned over time, though, is that this can mean a wide array of different things. We know that we’re not going to be seeing either Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton on the show; he may have been speaking more in terms of the show’s thematic impact than anything else.
Over time, more details are going to be revealed on the upcoming story — every indication that is out there suggests that FX is not planning to do the same super-secret rollout that they did for the show last year. Sometimes, good things do come out of mixing things up, and this is one of those opportunities. More casting news is set to come over the course of the summer, and we’ll update you when some further information is coming up.
