Gotham season 3 episode 15 spoilers: ‘How the Riddler Got His Name’ synopsis

How the Riddler Got His Name

While Gotham season 3 episode 15 entitled “How the Riddler Got His Name” may not air until April 24, we’ve got details now!

Earlier this week, Fox finally went ahead and lifted the veil on the official synopsis for the hour, one that seems to be featuring Cory Michael Smith’s character front and center as we start to learn / understand more of his journey in the wake of (seemingly) killing Oswald Cobblepot. His alter ego is about to be born, and in turn cause all sorts of problems for the remainder of the season.

Take a look at the attached synopsis for some further details on what lies ahead:

“Nygma (Cory Michael Smith) convinces himself that he doesn’t need Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor) to succeed and begins to introduce himself to Gotham as “The Riddler.” Bullock (Donal Logue) and Lucius Fox (Chris Chalk) get caught up in Nygma’s mind games, while Gordon (Ben McKenzie) learns troubling news about his father’s death. Meanwhile, the Court of the Owls reveals its next move.”

With the advance knowledge of where some of the upcoming episodes are going, there is a lot that seems to be intriguing here. For example, we’re very much invested at the moment in the story of the Court of Owls, and precisely everything that they could be orchestrating. Remember here that eventually, we’re going to meet Ra’s al Ghul as we start to learn that he has a role in making everything operate within this mystery organization.

Meanwhile, for Gordon we know that James Remar of Dexter fame has an interesting role to play as his uncle, who we presume is going to be the guy responsible for handing down all sorts of key information on his family history and everything that we could be seeing coming down the road. It’s an interesting story to keep watch on, and something that we’re curious to get a little more scoop on as we progress onward.

In the end, though, the biggest thing we’re going to be thrilled with is the simple fact that Gotham is back — it’s been a long time coming, and we’re thoroughly excited to see every single twist and turn.

For the record, we’ve been stoked for this Riddler story ever since Cory Michael Smith told us about the episode’s title a little bit earlier this season. We don’t know how you hear that and your jaw doesn’t start to slide off of your face. (Photo: Fox.)
