The Flash season 3 episode 18 sneak peek: Barry, Iris’ Abra Kadabra talk
Specifically, we’re speaking here about the presence of Abra Kadabra as a powerful meta-human from the future. He’s already made it clear that at some point in the future, he’ll be a key adversary of Barry’s. However, in the process he also makes it clear that he has some other clear value as someone who knows the true identity of Savitar. If Barry lets him go, he’ll clue him in somewhat on what he knows. If Barry doesn’t make the move, however, he runs the risk of never finding out the information that he so needs.
Barry makes his stance to his new fiancee clear: He wants to figure out a way to ensure that she is safe, and if Abra Kadabra gives up the goods, they’re a little closer to being able to do that. Iris, meanwhile, smartly counters that there is another way. Also, she’s smart and cognizant enough to consider the fact that Abra Kadabra may be lying straight up to their faces and may not have much knowledge at all in terms of what’s going on. He could be pulling off another trick, one that doesn’t involve magic.
Based on the evidence here, we gotta be Team Iris in this instance. It’d be nice if Abra Kadabra was telling the truth, but why trust a villain? Also, if Barry knows that Savitar is from the future, there should be a way to stop him looking through the timeline.
There are already of theories out there regarding who this guy could be, and at the top of the list, you’ve got some people like H.R., Barry from the future, another version of Wally, or another Julian. We suppose that Savitar could be someone independent from the core cast in some way, but that’d be interesting given that we haven’t heard anything about a new actor being cast for the part. Given the fact that so much of Savitar is CGI, it’s a little easier to put anyone on the other side of the mask and not use the actor in the flesh all that much for it.
