Grey’s Anatomy season 13 spoilers: Meredith, Riggs, and an airplane
Specifically, it’s looking like the upcoming 20th episode of this season could be a showcase for Ellen Pompeo and Martin Henderson much in the same way that we recently had one for Sarah Drew and Jesse Williams. The show’s been doing more standalone episodes this season, and we figure that there are several different merits to it — it offers some cast members some time off, it may be a little more cost-effective, and you’re also giving yourself a chance to focus in on some specific people in the cast and understand where they are coming from more.
Basically, what is going to happen in this episode (according to SpoilerTV) is that while in the air together, these two characters are going to be forced to deal with their feelings for each other. They’re sitting next to each other, and given that this is Grey’s Anatomy and nothing good ever happens aboard airplanes, something probably is going to go wrong.
This could certainly be a great opportunity for Riggs to be there for her, given that we have to figure that anytime she gets aboard an airplane at this point, there is probably going to be some sort of trauma or bad feelings that go along with that. When you’ve been through some of what she has, how could you end up denying that? The biggest problem that we’ve seen her have is simply that she has so many other considerations to understandably think about, and needs to determine that the timing here is right. Ultimately, there’s not too much at all that we can blame her for here, given that she’s trying to do the right thing — or what she perceives to be right. She may be trying to avoid listening to her heart for the sake of everything else going on in life.
We shouldn’t get our hopes up too much just yet, given that there is no 100% verification just yet that Meredith and Riggs are even going to be a couple in the long-term. Much of the attention that we give them is just based on the trajectory to date.
