Power season 4 star Naturi Naughton expecting first child
In a new post over at People Magazine, Naturi Naughton confirmed that she is expecting her first child with her longtime boyfriend Ben, and she couldn’t be happier about it. She made it clear that the pregnancy, which was unexpected at first, was also a “blessing.” She explained just how much she’s benefited from it to date:
“I feel like being pregnant and entering this new stage has made me stronger and more excited about life in general. Everything seems so much more purposeful.”
As for how the entire Power season 4 cast reacted to the news, they couldn’t be any more positive and supportive:
“They’ve been really good at keeping it on the low, but they’re also super excited … Omari [Hardwick], who plays my husband, we have kids on the show and he’s like, ‘Now you get to be experiencing motherhood in real life!’ Everyone’s been really supportive.”
Filming recently completed for the latest season of Power, which means that Naturi and her family should have the time necessary to prepare for her new arrival. She is currently expecting the child to be born in July, which interestingly is also right around we expect the return of Power to Starz. While there have been some changes to the network’s schedule as of late with Outlander season 3 being pushed back to fall, nothing is going to change when it comes to Power presumably — which makes sense given that it’s the #1 show it has on the air. It’s got a loyal following, and it works well in that spot.
As for what you can expect for Naturi’s character of Tasha on Power season 4, she’s going to be in a pretty precarious position. Ghost is going to be behind bars still stemming from the arrest at the hands of Angela, and her son Tariq’s going down a dangerous path thanks to Kanan, who seems intent on taking Ghost’s son away from him in the latest measure of revenge. It may take some time to see what the course of the season holds for all of these characters. If there’s one thing we’ve learned about Power, it’s that things never stay constant for long. The only constant is change.
