Legends of Tomorrow season 2: Emily Bett Rickards to cameo — in costume!
In a post on Twitter, executive producer Marc Guggenheim gave us an opportunity to see for the first time what Felicity’s new costume will look like. It feels almost like she’s a mage from some RPG game, and as a result of that we’re pretty much all about it.
Part of the appeal for Legends of Tomorrow is for the show to be fun, and for the writers / producers to play around with different concepts and ideas. for us, we don’t necessarily want to see her don a mask or a costume on Arrow just because that somehow suggests that the work she’s doing is not valuable as is. Yet, for this purpose, it’s a fun idea to give Emily something fun to take on that’s different and allows her to show off a different side. We know that she’s capable of playing different dimensions of the same character, given that we’ve seen her do that on Arrow in some flashback sequences of her in her goth phase. Of course, in addition that the version of the character she’s playing now with Helix is a far different version than season 1 Felicity, who was a little more lighthearted and not burdened by much of the terrible stuff going on in the world.
As of right now, we do think in general that all of the different DC – CW shows could use a little more Arrow. After all, the series is in a bit of a creative renaissance, and is having itself the best season of the four. It’s also the best Arrow season since we had Manu Bennett around as a regular.
There are only a couple of episodes left for Legends of Tomorrow season 2, and with that, we have to wait and see precisely what the story holds, and what the setup is going to be for a third season. We do still enjoy the show, and it’s a very difficult one to predict.
