Dancing with the Stars 24 premiere: David Ross, Erika Jayne’s familiar song choices

Dancing with the Stars 24 premiere

For the Dancing with the Stars 24 premiere on ABC Monday night, it certainly looks like there will be a touch of familiarity in terms of what some of the Stars are dancing to. It does make sense that they would want to work with songs they’re iconic for, given the fact that these are a way to showcase some of their personality. This is probably even more imperative if you’re someone who probably won’t be though of as the strongest dancer in the world right out of the gate.

Based on some of the information that we’ve got, here are some dances to watch out for.

Erika Jayne and Gleb Savchenko – Their first dance will be set to her song “XXPEN$IVE.” There’s no surprise there, given that her music is one of the two things that she’s known for. Out of the four stars dancing to something iconic to their lives, Erika’s probably the one with the most natural dance ability.

Chris Kattan and Witney Carson – They’ll be dancing to “What Is Love,” otherwise known as the famous song from Night at the Roxbury that inspired many people to do … well, it inspired them to do something.

Mr. T and Kym Johnson – They’ll be dancing to the theme of The A-Team, the TV series that brought the actor the majority of his fame.

David Ross and Lindsay Arnold – “Go Cubs Go,” the theme for the Chicago Cubs, will be the song choice here — once again, no major shock.

Here are some of the surprises to us — Heather Morris won’t be dancing to a song that she’s famous for doing on Glee (apparently, not Britney Spears music in the premiere), and Normani Kordei won’t be dancing to a Fifth Harmony song. If they make it far enough, we figure that this could easily change.

We’ve already made it clear that Dancing with the Stars 24 is likely going to be a two-person race between Morris and Simone Biles, with people like Rashad Jennings and Nancy Kerrigan serving as potential sleeper picks in the event that something crazy happens. We’ve already suggested that we’d love to see Ross make it far, just because baseball players are so rarely on this show.
