Is Shark Tank new tonight? When does it return?
However, tonight they’ve decided to apparently check the box reading “you’re getting neither” since there is no episode on at all. ABC is instead airing a true-crime special themed around the Manson family (yes, in 2017) following episodes of Last Man Standing and Dr. Ken. The reason why we’re getting so many different repeats / preemptions in March stems mostly from the fact that there were so many episodes that aired throughout the fall and the winter, and ABC wasn’t exactly offering all that much information in the way of repeats at the time. Now, they can fill up their schedule with these rather than face heavy competition against March Madness.
So when will Shark Tank actually return with new episodes? At the earliest, it will be on March 31 given that there is no new episode airing next week, either. At least then you’re going to get a chance to see a repeat featuring some products from earlier this season, including Energybits, Line Cutterz, PupBox, and Barbell Apparel. There’s also an update on Bantam Bagels that is going to be thrown in there for good measure, as well.
To date, 19 episodes in total have aired of Shark Tank season 8, and it’s not entirely clear how many ABC is planning to put on the air this time. If the show starts back on March 31, it’s possible that we could have 27 or 28 episodes by the time we make it to the end of May. This would put the total episode count as slightly lower than the 29 that we’ve seen over the past few years. There are some elements of this show that do give it a reasonably-uncertain future. For example, will Kevin O’Leary’s political aspirations lead to him departing the series at the end of the season? You have to wonder about his future, and what the Shark lineup would be like with him gone. Our argument is that you slide Chris Sacca into Kevin’s place and call it a day, but we also don’t know how much time he has in his schedule.
