Dancing with the Stars 24 spotlight: Will Mr. T and Kym Johnson shine?

Mr. T and Kym Johnson are certainly one of the more interesting pairs going into Dancing with the Stars 24, mostly because they are two people who are going into this season with little to no expectations. He’s the oldest guy on the season and he’s not known for his dancing at all — yet, at the same time, he’s one of the most iconic people on this season! He’s immediately recognizable, and people are going to vote for him just because they like him.

Now that we’ve said this, there’s still one more question you have to ask: Is there a real shot for Mr. T to win the whole season? It’s understandable to be a little bit skeptical about that based on where he stands entering the game and who he’s up against.

Claim to fame – Actor and former professional wrestler. He’s appeared in countless movies and TV shows over time, but he is probably best known for his role on The A-Team. He’s talked openly during the preseason about being a former bouncer, and how he’s not someone who really knows how to do it at all.

Partner – Kym’s been on the show for a long time off and on. She’s not a part of every season, but it’s definitely fun to get her whenever we can. She won the show previously with Donny Osmond, and she’s now married to the last person she was on the show with in Robert Herjavec. She may actually be going by Kym Herjavec on the season, given that she is going by this on social media.

Strengths – Mr. T is going to be entertaining. He’s got a signature style, signature catch-phrases, and we know that he’s going to be a lot of fun to watch unfold even though he’s not going to be the best dancer in the world. The best thing that he can do is play to his audience, and at the same time also just try to have a good time. Make people feel good watching you!

Weaknesses – As we said, Mr. T is not going to be a good dancer. He’s older, he’s not a dancer, and we don’t know if he has any rhythm at all. He’ll probably be lucky to give 5’s his first week. He’s going to have to deal with this for pretty much the entire time in which he’s a part of the show.

Prediction – We think that the ceiling for Mr. T is going to probably be around week four or week five, mostly because of the fact that his scores will eventually catch up to him! We do think that he’s going to be a fan favorite, though, largely because of the fact that he’s so likable and different from everyone else.
