Preacher season 2 premiere date set; Timeless star Malcolm Barrett recurring

Preacher season 2 premiere date

For those curious in the Preacher season 2 premiere date, rest assured that some details are finally coming out about when the show is going to be returning to AMC!

The network confirmed on Friday that come Monday, June 19 at 9:00 p.m. Eastern time, you will get a chance to see the series back. That’s a new timeslot for the show, and as a result of that, a new challenge given that it will have to ensure that some of the fans of the first season are aware of the change, and reach to find their way back to it after loving everything that they had a chance to see on the first batch of episodes. Given how the season ended for the most part with a detonation, it’s absolutely fair to say that we’re looking at a story that will be very different.

One of the very interesting things about this season to us could be whether or not the recent awards run for Ruth Negga thanks to Loving could in turn bring the show a little bit more attention. It got pretty strong reviews for its first season and decent ratings, but we do think that there’s potential for even more. The show has quite a bit that should appeal to many different people.

Once AMC has more in the way of promos / trailers for the upcoming episodes, you better believe that we’ll have them for you here!

Now, let’s talk casting

Noah Taylor, Pip Torrens and Julie Ann Emery were announced recently as series regulars, but one of the big announcements that has us curious is the addition of Timeless star Malcolm Barrett in a recurring role. Given the nature of this show, it’s probably going to be a rather-different role than the one he played as Rufus on the NBC series.

Before anyone starts to send up warning flares about this equaling that Timeless is done and won’t be returning, it’s just a recurring gig and Barrett will be done with it by the time that the second season would begin filming. Once some of the cast members start having new pilots, that’s when you will start to see some serious ambiguity as to whether or not the show returns. After all, that would mean that both the cast and other networks wouldn’t have much confidence in it.
