Shades of Blue season 2 video: Jennifer Lopez, cast on what’s ahead

Tomorrow night, Shades of Blue season 2 is going to be premiering with all-new episodes, and we’re going to be starting this article off with a tough question: What happens next with Harlee Santos? It was one thing for her to announce to Matt Wozniak that she was the mole; it was another thing altogether for him to respond that he was well-aware.

As if the title didn’t make it clear already, this is a show that loves to dive beyond the black and white, and that is going to be all the clearer in the second season. The video below features Jennifer Lopez, Ray Liotta, and others speaking out about the story of season 2 so far, and also some of how their characters are adapting following what happened the first time around. You get the sense that they love playing the parts, especially when it comes to how the writers continually try to keep them on their toes.

Here is what Lopez specifically had to say in the video about some of the twists and themes that are coming up:

“I think with season 2, you can expect a lot of twists and turns — human nature … why we do the things that we do. So much changes for Harlee.”

This is one of the complicated things about this show, and it’s something that could be applied to almost crime show out there. You want to root for some of these characters to find the good in the world, and not get so caught up in all the darkness. Yet, if that ever happens, suddenly you’re in a spot where there’s less drama, and the show gets less compelling. You want that drama to be there so that the story stays crazy, and you continue to be on your toes in terms of what’s around every corner.
