Outlander season 3: Prepare to see Sam Heughan, Caitriona Balfe at Emerald City Comic-Con

For all fans of Outlander in the Pacific Northwest, tomorrow’s a big day thanks to Emerald City Comic-Con! Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe are going to be there for a panel, and we’re here today to offer up some further information all about it!

Tomorrow, the panel is going to take place at 11:00 a.m. Pacific time at the Main Stage – WSCC 4A for those who are going to be in attendance. If you’re there, be prepared to stand in line for a long time leading up for it. We cannot speak for the ECCC audience, but we know from experience seeing Nathan Fillion and members of The Walking Dead cast in Toronto (plus lineups for a few San Diego Comic-Con panels) that we’ve stood in line a good two hours in advance to get some good seats. It’ll be worth the wait, but be patient and get in line early — it’s always better safe than sorry, and it’s so difficult to gauge demand in advance.

Also, if this is your first Con, enjoy the experience and savor every minute! Once these panels start, they always tend to blow by just because there’s so much positive energy and humor in the room. Make sure you’re wearing comfortable clothes (especially footwear — there’s a lot of walking), and eat a good meal in advance since that will make life so much easier for you and you can avoid some of the crowds.

Alas, we won’t be there in-person. If this was WonderCon in Anaheim or even SDCC, maybe it’d be a different story since those are more in our neck of the woods. Alas, on this occasion it’s not.

Nonetheless, our plan is to figure out some sort of way to deliver coverage for the event, even if it means tracking social media updates and bringing you some of the highlights for what was said during the panel. Some of you out there may have autograph opportunities — congratulations on that if you’re one of them!

A fan event

If you want to meet up with some other Outlander fans on Saturday, March 4, someone has set up a Facebook event for that over here. That’s a great way to socialize with some like-minded fans and build up the bonds in the community. This already is one of the most-passionate and tight-knit groups out there, and that’s refreshing when you look at some of the division that is pervading some other fandoms that are out there in the TV world.
