Is NCIS: Los Angeles new tonight? Talking season 8, renewal odds, and more

NCIS

Even with the Oscars airing on ABC, we do certainly understand the question being asked: Is NCIS: Los Angeles new tonight? We do wish that we had a better answer for you, but alas, that said answer is “no.” CBS is not running the risk of losing viewers, and we don’t entirely blame them. You have to remember here that this is a show that has not technically been renewed just yet for a season 9.

Do we expect that to happen? Absolutely, largely to the point where there is no point in worrying about it? This is a show reaping big rewards as a result of the move to Sunday nights. The ratings are killing it on Sunday nights, and this show does serve as a good potential launching pad to some other programs that are out there. We feel like this season more than ever, we’re seeing a nice mixture of procedural cases and larger, deeper investigations that test the characters.

New episodes of the show will resume on Sunday, March 5, and you better be prepared for things to get emotionally. Specifically, we mean this in terms of getting a chance to pay tribute to Miguel Ferrer, who will be honored during the hour. There is a title card planned at the end of the hour, and some other elements will be added during the broadcast.

Also, this episode has to worthy guest stars in Martin Mull and Debra Jo Rupp, who will be out scamming senior centers and somehow be connected to the main case at hand. It may be a comedic alternative to some of the heavy drama as of late with the mole, but that is very much needed at this point. Don’t we need a breather from Kensi nearly dying?

One other thing to look forward to

As previously reported, Bar Paly will be returning in March as Anna, and we recently reported about an episode where she and Callen will have a romantic dinner that is interrupted by a dangerous case.
