‘Riverdale’ episode 6 preview: The ‘who killed Jason Blossom?’ mystery intensifies

Riverdale -

Maybe on some shows that are out there, the idea of an episode geared around a variety show are not altogether interesting. Yet, it feels fair to say that “Riverdale” is not an ordinary show! You’ve got one question at the center of it in who killed Jason Blossom, and it’s something that will get more and more crazy / dramatic as the season goes on.

This ultimately includes the next new episode, which carries with it the title of “Faster, Pussycats! Kill! Kill!” — if you know what that is a reference to without having to look it up, you deserve some sort of round of applause! This is going to be a story with some MAJOR drama, especially with Betty throwing out one accusation in particular on the whole Jason Blossom mystery. You’re also going to be a little bit of Riverdale High having a variety show, which sounds as though it’s going to be a ton of fun … at least on the surface.

Here’s the bad news: Apparently, Archie’s attempt at impressing during the show could end with it blowing up in his face.

Synopsis – “With Riverdale High’s annual variety show around the corner, Valerie’s (guest star Hayley Law) efforts to help Archie (KJ Apa) prepare for his big performance lead to some major fallout between her and Josie (Ashleigh Murray). Meanwhile, Betty (Lili Reinhart) and Jughead’s (Cole Sprouse) investigation into Jason’s death brings them to a home for troubled youth and face-to-face with Polly (guest star Tiera Skovbye). Just as her relationship with her mother was on the upswing, an unexpected betrayal sends Veronica (Camila Mendes) spiraling, while Josie deals with her own pressures at home after her overbearing father returns for her performance at the variety show. Finally, Hermoine’s (Marisol Nichols) first day at Andrew’s Construction finds her and Fred (Luke Perry) growing closer.”

The reality of the situation

In looking at the “who killed Jason blossom?” question, the reality here is that we’re probably kidding ourselves to think that this is a question the producers are going to answer at any point in the near future. They’re far more liable to let this linger until the finale. (Photo: The CW.)
