‘Chicago Fire’ exclusive sneak peek: Taylor Kinney’s Severide responds to some surprising news

Severide -On tonight’s new episode of “Chicago Fire,” change will almost be the norm. The episode begins with many of the members of Firehouse 51 split off into different places as a result of Chief Anderson’s actions. He’s been in a verbal battle with Boden, and he divided up the 51 team at the end of last week’s episode as retaliation for what he felt was gross insubordination.

For Kelly Severide, there are some parts of Anderson’s move that will certainly come as a surprise to him. In the exclusive sneak peek below for Tuesday’s new episode “Purgatory,” you can see Taylor Kinney’s character react to learning that Cruz and Capp are working at the call center rather than working out in the field — they’re clearly two guys who are excellent at what they do, so this is a pretty harsh departure for them.

Given that Firehouse 51 works better when the entire Firehouse crew is there together, we gotta hold out hope that a reunion is coming! We’ll just have to see where the story goes…

As for the remainder of this sneak peek, Cruz directs Kelly over to a dangerous situation at a very well-known parking structure at Marina City. We’ve seen this one in person before, and it’s MASSIVE — kudos to the show for working it into the story. Now, let’s just hope that the man hanging on for dear life ends up being okay!

Beyond the changes for Firehouse 51 that are present in this clip, Severide is still contemplating over making a big personal change — he has an offer to work out in Springfield, where he would have both a better position and be in closer proximity to his recent love interest Anna. The question is whether or not he feels his heart is there or where he is now in Chicago. This is another situation that could linger throughout this episode, and it’ll be interesting to see where the story leads.
