‘Supergirl’ season 2, episode 14 preview: Jeremiah Danvers is back — but now?

Tonight, “Supergirl” is going to be bringing you an appearance from one of the most noteworthy, colorful villains in all of Superman comic lore — beyond this, it looks like they will be bringing you a certain touch of the familiar. Dean Cain will be returning as Jeremiah Danvers for next week’s installment “Homecoming,” but as exciting as this appearance is, there are also several questions to be raised to go along with it — take, for example, how this character even ends up turning up at all given where he was with Project Cadmus.

Given that both Kara and Alex have such a history with Jeremiah, they may not be so quick to question his return; that is why it could be important for some other characters to speak up, even if they are saying things that not everyone else wants to hear.

Synopsis – “When Jeremiah Danvers (guest star Dean Cain) is rescued from Cadmus, Alex (Chyler Leigh) and Kara (Melissa Benoist) are thrilled to have their father back. The Danvers arrange a family dinner to celebrate but things go awry when a suspicious Mon-El (Chris Wood) starts to question Jeremiah about his sudden return.”

Is Jeremiah under the control of Cadmus somehow? That’s a strong possibility, given that if you were a part of this evil organization, odds are that you would consider one of the best ways to torment Supergirl to be bringing in someone who seems to have some sort of personal connection to her. Throwing Jeremiah out there should give everyone pause, even if someone like Kara does do her best from time to time to see the good in everyone … even if doing so often does lead to her detriment. Who would’ve ever thought that someone like Mon-El, who comes across as so careful, would end up being the cynic responsible for giving her a little bit of pause? It’s surprising, but that is in part what makes it so interesting.

Promo – This confirms the return of Jeremiah, but also the intense tension that will be there with Alex and Maggie in the process.
