‘Supergirl’ season 2, episode 13 preview: This ‘Mr. & Mrs Mxyzptlk’ scene will put a song in your heart!
There’s a new episode of “Supergirl” airing on The CW Monday night, and judging from the latest sneak peek for it that we’ve got for you below, this one is going to be especially fun — at least for us. We’re not sure that we can say the same thing for either Kara or Mon-El given what they’re dealing with.
In this scene from “Mr. & Mrs Mxyzptlk,” you’re going to be meeting the title character in a slightly more substantial way than you did at the end of this past episode — though this does piggyback almost directly off of the cliffhanger. You see Mr. Mxyzptlk take it upon himself to decorate Kara’s apartment, declare her his “one true love,” and at one part begin to sing “A Whole New World” from “Aladdin” — apparently, wherever he is from Disney movies are still quite popular!
This entire sequence is incredibly fun and incredibly silly, and it ends with the title character trolling Mon-El hard. First, he proclaims that “he didn’t see him there” effectively, and then promptly decides to ship him over to the DEO in his underwear rather than continue to be in his presence, blocking his path to his one true love.
Obviously, there’s about a 0.0000001% chance that Kara ever goes along with any of this, with that 1 being mostly in the event that she somehow completely loses her mind and cannot quite figure out why she is marrying some playful imp from another world. One thing we do really like about this version of the character is that they are keeping some of the spirit from the original intact, but they aren’t making him nearly as vile — there’s a certain charm about him, one that makes you feel like the right person could fall in love with him and all of his shenanigans. It’s just not Kara, and he’s not going to respond altogether well to many of his advances.
