‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 13, episode 14 preview: Meredith fights for her job; Alex returns to work

Jo and Alex -Last week on “Grey’s Anatomy,” we saw Baily make the wonderful decision to re-hire Dr. Alex Karev. Given that he didn’t end up being convicted of any crime, he had an ability to be able to return to work provided that he brought in the necessary documentation.

Thankfully, it looks like he’s going to do that! Next week’s installment “Back Where You Belong” (isn’t that so much nicer than “Everything Gets Much Worse” this week?) should provide you with some opportunities to see some great performances — and also some shock-and-awe from Alex when he realizes that this is not the same Grey Sloan Memorial that he left from back when he was last in his old position. (Specifically, we are speaking here about the shake-up at the top, which includes Dr. Eliza Minnick trying to completely redo the teaching structure of the hospital.)

Synopsis – “Alex returns to the hospital and discovers a lot has changed since he left. Meanwhile, Jo has to make a difficult decision on a case, and Arizona tries to distance herself from Eliza.”

We do feel for Eliza in a way, mostly because we do think that she is a woman just trying her best to do a great job. Here’s the hard truth about the position that she’s in: It’s terrible, mostly because of the fact that she is going to be struggling for some time in order to get everyone on her side in part due to her own bedside manner. Even if she’s doing her job, she’s gotta figure out a better way to do it! Her style is going to potentially cost her a potential relationship with Arizona. There’s been some mutual interest there, but also a few things that are standing in the way.

Promo – Meredith is ready to fight to get her old job back! For those of you who missed her tonight, this should give you something to look forward to.
