Can ‘Teen Wolf’ season 6 end on a stronger ratings note?

Teen wolf -While we’re sure that there are divided opinions on the first half of “Teen Wolf” season 6 (this can be said for almost any season of the show), there are several different things that we liked about it. For one, it chose to emphasize a brand of storytelling that was far more psychological, and a little less focused on some of the easy scares that we saw in the first few seasons. On the flip side, it didn’t have much Dylan O’Brien, and we saw what the reaction to this twist was courtesy of some of the ratings that were coming out for it over time.

The first half of the season took a tumble — a HARD one — in the live+same day figures. We don’t think that we are being hyperbolic at all in saying this, mostly because the first ten episodes averaged a 0.2 rating in the 18-49 demographic. This is a pretty significant drop of 50% from where the show was for the season before. There are external factors that went into this, such as a long layoff and also the fact that the show has only aired in the fall / winter so far, but it’s still not welcome news no matter how you look at it.

Is there hope for the show to turn things around in the second half of the season? We’d say so, if only for two different reasons. For one, this particular batch is going to air in the summer, which is the best landing spot for the show in terms of generating some big numbers. Second, it’s the end of the road! There are going to be some more potential viewers who turn up just because they’ve watched at one point or another, and are curious to see precisely how all of this is going to end.

Rest assured, once we do get closer to the end of the series, we’ll be taking a much closer look at the ratings.
