‘Game of Thrones’ season 7: A hint at the schedule ahead via Sophie Turner

Game of ThronesWhen the seventh season of “Game of Thrones” premieres on HBO over the summer, we’ll be getting a further sense of the beginning of the end. There are seven episodes this summer, and then potentially as few as six next year before the series wraps up. There is no guarantee of an end date, so we just have to embrace and enjoy every second of the series that we get between now and then.

For those of you who are curious, it does appear as though the eighth season of the show is going to start filming roughly the same time that season 7 did — there’s no going back to a summer schedule like we had for the first six years. While speaking on the red carpet with Hey U Guys (see the video below — always easy to appreciate a Goonies reference) Turner details that she’s got some film work coming up (including more within the “X-Men” universe), and then after that the eighth season of the show is going to premiere.

We know that it is INCREDIBLY tempting to watch this video and automatically assume that the eighth season of the show is automatically going to feature Sansa Stark, but we like to think that we know the show better than to take almost anything that the cast says at face value these days. It’s not that we think that any of these people are untrustworthy liars by any means; we’ve just come to know better than to take anything that they say at face value. These are all people who more than likely love their jobs and want to keep them; therefore, there’s just about zero incentive for them to give any teasers in some instances. It’s not like they’re getting kickbacks on ad revenue for giving something away.

Rest assured, we’ll be covering season 8 when it gets a little closer — we’ve just got to dive into season 7 first.
