‘Billions’ season 2: Showtime posts premiere episode online

Billions season 2Showtime really wants to get you into “Billions” season 2. How do we know? Let’s just say that the premium cable network decided to do something that they’ve been very keen to do with some other shows in the past: Putting the entire premiere episode online in advance.

If you head over to the link here, you can check out the entire episode in its (relative) entirety. Remember that this is the YouTube version of the episode, so there are probably a few things that are edited in here to comply with the service. Still, it should give you a good indication of why you should watch.

“Billions” is a show that is very smart and calculating, and more than that, features great performances by Damian Lewis, Paul Giamatti, and Maggie Siff. We would say that the first season got off to a little bit of a slow start, but as the show got more and more complex, it started to become one of the strongest entries in the premium-cable roster last year. Just for the cat-and-mouse game alone, we would consider this to be a program very much worth checking out. Let’s just hope that the quiet intensity continues this time around.

One of the things that we’re the most interested in as we move into the next season is that of a role reversal. Previously, we saw a whole lot of the emphasis placed on Chuck Rhoades (Giamatti) trying to take down Bobby Axelrod (Lewis). For season 2, we could see the tables turned, and we could get a chance to see Axe making his move on Rhoades as revenge. These are two guys who are both extremely good and determined when it comes to what they do; therefore, we have to figure that they’re going to do everything that they can in order to ensure that this happens.
