‘The Blacklist’ season 4, episode 14 preview: Aram goes undercover; Red wants answers

The Blacklist logo any seasonTonight on “The Blacklist,” you will get a great introduction to Isabella Stone, a villain who seems to have Red genuinely shaking in his boots. She’s a woman with a great deal of power, and has the ability to destroy people even without killing them — though she also doesn’t have any problem doing that, either, if the situation calls for it.

The story of Stone is really tied to something that has been going on for several weeks: An attempt by someone to destroy Reddington’s entire operation. Based on the synopsis below for next week’s new episode, it absolutely looks as though she may have actually been hired to do the bidding of someone else. Doesn’t that raise the stakes?

Synopsis – “Aram (Amir Arison) goes undercover as a hacker in order to identify a notorious criminal who for a price will design, construct and execute the perfect crime. Tom (Ryan Eggold) expands his search for missing details about his childhood, while Red (James Spader) takes action to locate the source of his compromised business operations.”

If we were to put on our detective hat, we still feel as though Mr. Kaplan is behind this just because it’s the story that makes more sense. She has a genuine reason to go after Reddington given what he did to her, and she’s smart enough to not make it all that obvious that she’s behind it. In his mind, he believes that she’s dead. Therefore, there is no reason for him to suspect that she is floating around out there.

As for the rest of the episode, it certainly sounds exciting. It’s always fun to see Aram in situations where he is out in the field; meanwhile, the story of Tom is probably going to continue to escalate as we get closer and closer to the “Blacklist: Redemption” spin-off show coming a little later in the month.

Promo – Will Red get the truth out of Isabella Stone? That seems unclear, but the one thing that feels clear is that this may be one of Aram’s most dangerous missions to date. We saw some of the danger facing him in the Canadian promo for next week; the NBC one showcases the walls closing in on Red, who may be getting too dangerous for his own good.
