‘Law & Order: SVU’ season 18 spoilers: ‘Rookie Blue,’ ‘Rizzoli & Isles’ alumni set up for Wall Street case

Law & Order: SVU logoWe told you recently a little bit about an upcoming episode of “Law & Order: SVU” that will feature a certain Wall Street flair to it, and we’re also now glad to report a little bit of something more when it comes to casting.

According to a report coming in from TVLine (which confirmed a previous mention over at Sitcoms Online), former “Rookie Blue” star Missy Peregrym is going to be appearing in an upcoming April episode entitled “Net Worth” as a top investment banker, one who accuses a high-powered billionaire client (played by Tate Donovan) of rape during the episode. For Peregrym, this is the second iconic crime franchise that she’ll have appeared in this TV season; previously, she guest-starred in an episode of CBS’ “Hawaii Five-0” in the role of Danny’s sister.

Meanwhile, the site also reports in this episode that “Rizzoli & Isles” alum Jordan Bridges will appear in the role of Peregrym’s supervisor. He is someone who could potentially be in a very difficult spot, given that he should do the right thing and support his fellow employee; however, whether or not he does remains to be seen, given that this is a brutal world and money often talks louder than anything else. (Bridges has previously appeared in the franchise before back on “Law & Order: Criminal Intent.”)

New episodes of “SVU” are going to continue airing on NBC Wednesday nights; we are coming off of the 400th episode last night, and moving forward we will see the show take on a number of other important issues, including youth hazing in organized sports. It may not be confirmed to be coming back for an nineteenth season just yet, but when you look both at the ratings and the tremendous pop-culture impact that the series does have, it’s not altogether difficult to figure out precisely why we are so optimistic.

What do you think about these new castings? As always, we welcome some of your thoughts on the subject below!
