‘Lucifer’ season 2, episode 14 is not ‘postponed’ — and there’s no other reason to worry, either

It’s around this time every week that we love to talk about “Lucifer,” but unfortunately, there’s not as much going on with the story itself at present. That’s what happens when Fox puts you on hiatus for ALMOST THREE MONTHS. It’s a rather crazy hiatus to think about, but it’s the reality that Fox has left us in.

So, for the time being we do have to face the possibility that some of season 2 will air either into the summer or be saved until fall — let’s hope that it’s not the latter given that this is hiatus is a pretty insufferable one as it is. (We know that, at the very least, a few episodes are airing in May.)

For the sake of the rest of this article, what we wanted to do is play a little bit of Clean Up on Aisle Rumor, where we can put some of the TV press out there in its place when it comes to some of the ways in which they are trying to drum up traffic.

1. The latest episode hasn’t been “postponed” or “delayed” – Those words suggest that the plan originally was that the next new episode was originally meant to air tonight, which was never the case. The moment that Fox figured out that this is what they were going to do with their schedule, it was decided that there would be a lengthy hiatus for the series in this spot.

2. The hiatus isn’t tied to its future on the network – Just because there is no new “Lucifer” episode coming on the air tonight does not mean that the show is going to be getting canceled. Its future will be gauged independently of anything that happens in the hiatus, and for the time being we remain optimistic. Fox would move the show to Friday nights well before they would cancel it; we feel the same way with “Gotham,” which is in much of the same boat ratings-wise. The network just has some bigger fish to fry in between their struggles on Tuesday and Thursday night.
