‘Girl Meets World’ star Rowan Blanchard heading over to ‘The Goldbergs’

Girl Meets World -It’s been a little while now since the end of “Girl Meets World,” and unfortunately for the time being, there is still no update on if the show will be coming back or where it would air. We don’t think anything is dead in the water just yet, but we don’t want to say anything to create false hope. Its return is an underdog story; you want to root for it, especially since sometimes underdog stories come true. However, the reason you call them “underdog stories” is because the general tendency is that they don’t end up happening despite whatever wishes that you have of them coming to fruition.

The good news today is that the series’ star in Rowan Blanchard is going to get a chance to do something else rather great while we wait — and for those of you who are devoted “Girl Meets World” fans, you can consider this an opportunity to see her bring some more attention to the show.

According to a report from TVLine, Blanchard is going to appear in an upcoming season 4 episode of ABC’s “The Goldbergs” (airing a little bit later in the spring), one where she will be playing the part of Aliza, who happens to run William Penn Academy’s sci-fi / fantasy magazine. There is not too much known about the character yet, but knowing “The Goldbergs” there is a good chance that she could appear in more than one episode if the writers and the audience respond well to her character.

This gig helps to further cement Rowan within the Disney – ABC family, and in the event that “Girl Meets World” does not get a chance to continue, we’d love to see another show give her a chance to be a series regular in a new role. After all, she deserves to have as many opportunities to entertain as possible, and we figure that she will have plenty of fans who will be willing to follow her anywhere.

Are you glad to see that Rowan is getting another great role so soon? Share in the comments, and rest assured that we’re going to have more “Girl Meets World” news / updates as soon as we have them over at the link here. (Photo: Disney Channel.)
