‘NCIS’ season 14, episode 14 preview: Robert Wagner’s return and plenty of humor

After a short break “NCIS” season 14 is going to return with new episodes on Tuesday night, and that’s not the only good news that we’ve got for you at the moment.

Based on the new promo below, “Nonstop” looks like it is going to be a complete hoot of an episode, one stuffed full of some funny scenes featuring the return of a certain crime-fighting team in the Sherlocks. This means that you’ll get a chance to see Judith McKnight (Jessica Walter), Richard Riehle as Walt Osorio, and Todd Louiso as Lyle Waznicki once more. Not only that, but they’ve got some company in the form of Anthony DiNozzo Sr. (Robert Wagner), who steps in and joins the group on their latest case.

Anytime that you get a chance to see Senior on the show, it’s pretty clear that it’s going to lead to a great time. You can say that even more so when you see precisely what it is that he’s up to in the promo! What’s great about this is that you’re also giving Walter to use even more of her comedic chops — which is especially great for reminding us precisely how much we miss having “Arrested Development” having new episodes.

For those of you who are Tony DiNozzo fans, there is an added benefit of getting Senior just from the vantage point of getting to hear a few isolated updates here and there on the subject of how his son is doing. Given that Michael Weatherly is working on “Bull” in New York, and the shows film at roughly the same time of the year, it’s almost impossible for him to have the time to make another guest appearance. Through Senior, we can at least get an opportunity to hear how he’s doing without actually seeing him in the present. (Now that we’ve said all of this, watch there be no actual update at all.)
