‘The Voice’ season 12: Gwen Stefani talks working with Alicia Keys, more new new video

The Voice -With the season 12 premiere of “The Voice” coming onto NBC on Monday, February 27, the network is starting to be kind enough to share a few little morsels here and there of what we can expect to see coming up — and that includes basically everything that you’ve got in the video below!

This first-look feature offers you a good sense of everything that is going to be coming up in terms of the rapport between the coaches, and their overall outlook on things going into this big chapter of the show. By and large, there’s not all that much to see here that’s going to shock you / blow you away, given that these are the same people you’ve already come to know on multiple other seasons! There are two clear differences to us, and they include Gwen Stefani being on the show for the first time with Alicia Keys, and then also getting to see what Blake and Gwen’s chemistry is like now that they’ve been dating for a good while.

In the end, the format and the consistency with it is both a blessing and a curse. While everyone knows at this point what you’re going to get from watching “The Voice” and that can be great, there are still some issues that go along with it. For one, the Battle Rounds are still weak, and there needs to be more of a firm plan devised by producers throughout so that it is clear that whoever wins the show at the end of the season will have a good chance at a successful career. That’s still something that we’re seeing the labels struggle with.

One last thing that we want to say, and it’s strictly aesthetic — we really dig the show’s use of the magenta in both the video thumbnail below and also the logo. It’s a nice, subtle change from the bold and occasionally-intimidating red that they often go with.
