‘Agents of SHIELD’ season 4, episode 12 preview: Longer look at Patton Oswalt’s return

Given that Patton Oswalt is an immensely talented guy, our sentiment is that if you’ve got him as a part of your show, you are obviously going to do just about everything that you can in order to take advantage of his presence. With that in mind, we come to you bearing the gift of the latest sneak peek for Marvel’s “Agents of SHIELD.”

In this particular preview, what is front and center is Billy Koenig and Dr. Radcliffe being set to be interrogated — while at the same time having dramatically differing opinions about said interrogation. While Billy seems to be very much down with the idea of taking on whatever is thrown his way, we see at the same Radcliffe being about as resistant as resistant can be. He doesn’t want to run the risk of anything happening to him, and we understand why given the scope of his operation at the moment with the LMDs, including his own.

The question that we have after watching this is rather simple: Is this all a plot? Is Radcliffe working with the Watchdogs? Is he really a true villain? Obviously, we’ve got a TON of questions at the moment. What’s interesting about this arc is that it doesn’t feel quite like we’re watching the same sort of typical heroes / villains dichotomy that we’re used to with this show. It’s significantly more convoluted than that, and we mean that in the best possible way.

We’ll get all of our answers come tomorrow night, so our advice is to kick back, relax, and enjoy the multiple appearances of Oswalt on the show. There aren’t that many opportunities that we get in order to see him in action, so we hope you get to enjoy this for every bit of what it’s worth.
