‘Star’ spoilers: Paris Jackson to appeal on Lee Daniels’ Fox series

Star -

Given that her father Michael was the King of Pop, it certainly makes sense for Paris Jackson to appear on a show all about the music industry in “Star” — and most of the buzz out there about the appearance has been positive so far.

According to a new report from TMZ, Jackson met recently with show executive producer Lee Daniels for a screen test, and it went well enough that she is already filming scenes for the Fox series. It is unclear precisely what her role is, or how long she will be a part of the show. Either way, this is certainly a guest appearance to celebrate given that it gives Paris a chance to make her TV acting debut, while it also gives “Star” a little more publicity at a time in which it could use a bump in the ratings.

This casting doesn’t come as much of a surprise given Daniels’ incredible talent when it comes to booking people on his shows with an amazing amount of star power. He already has Lenny Kravitz and Queen Latifah on this series, and if you look over to “Empire,” you can see an incredible list of guest stars that include Mariah Carey and Chris Rock. He makes these people feel at home, and gives them an exciting role that they wouldn’t have a chance to play otherwise.

New episodes of “Star” are going to continue to air for many more weeks — given where the show is in production, we anticipate that Jackson’s episode will probably air a little bit later this season. The TMZ report claims that she was a “natural” in the audition, so maybe that means that she will get a chance to do a little more on the show down the road if it gets a chance to come back. Stay tuned.
