‘Emerald City’ episode 6 preview: Whose side is Dorothy on?

Emerald city -

Whether it be in life or in the fictionalized plane that is NBC’s “Emerald City,” there is one thing that will define you and push you forward: Choices. You have to trust your instinct, even if there is little evidence as to what you should decide to do. This is what Dorothy faces moving into the next new episode “Beautiful Wickedness,” as she is stuck facing two very different outcomes and has to determine precisely what it is that she feels is right, and worthy of most of her attention.

The promo does simplify things slightly with its whole “witches vs. The Wizard” debate, but the fact remains the same: What she does as we step forward could end up having sweeping consequences for almost everyone. It should also make for some emotional moments that tie into her personal history.

Synopsis – “Dorothy’s (Adria Arjona) confrontation with the Wizard (Vincent D’Onofrio) brings her closer to discovering the truth about her past. Lucas (Oliver Jackson-Cohen) goes to great lengths to recover his memory, even if it means allying with West (Ana Ularu). The Wizard enacts his plan with Langwidere (guest star Stefanie Martini) to prepare for the battle to come.”

Will you see this battle moving into this episode? For now, we vote “unlikely” simply on the basis of it being something that is probably best to simmer and be a focal point as we get closer to the end of the season. One thing to remember here is that there are only ten episodes of the first season; as a result of that, we’re at the halfway mark now and things are likely going to keep building from here until the story reaches the zenith. Given that there is no guarantee of a future beyond this season, you have to hope that the show puts its everything in ensuring that all of the proper story points are resolved.
