‘Teen Wolf’ season 6, episode 9 reaction: Stiles, Lydia, and another step closer

Teen WolfOn Tuesday night’s new episode of “Teen Wolf,” it feels fair to say that we had some moments that are going to stick with many diehard fans of the show for a super-long time.

Let’s start by getting the biggest surprise out of the way: Stiles is back! Well, maybe that is not actually all that big of a surprise at all, given that this is probably a moment that many longtime fans of the show have been hoping for / expecting to see. Had the show done all of this only to not bring the character back, we imagine that there would be riots in the streets.

As for the other main order of business from the episode, this is probably what we saw send many ‘shippers out there into a tailspin: An admission from Lydia to having some feelings for Stiles. It may not have been to his face just yet, but for the first time in really forever, we have an indication that the powerful moment we’ve long been looking forward to seeing is just about her. We’re not sure what it will be like, but we are pretty confident that it will get everyone celebrating.

We know we’ve spent a good bit of time on Stiles and Lydia, but we don’t want to diminish the impact of what it was that Theo did. Sacrificing himself for the Ghost Riders could be this character doing something that we never imagined that he would: Find some sort of redemption for his past. Maybe some characters out there will understandably still hate him, but for the time being, we’re considering this a little victory.

Next week – The winter finale is clear, and there’s a good chance that everything is going to be going to hell in a hand-basket. After all, getting Stiles back is no guarantee that everyone’s going to be suddenly running off and being happy — there are many more issues that are going to be coming up in the weeks ahead. Head over here to get a preview.
