‘Celebrity Big Brother’ reportedly planning full All-Star season for season 20

CBB -Apparently, the producers over at Channel 5 for “Celebrity Big Brother” are loving what they are seeing for this current season. How else could you explain that they are going ahead and planning another All-Star season even though this current season has yet to come to a close?

Speaking to The Sun, executives are getting set to spend some big bucks in order to bring back another lineup of some of the most famous and successful participants from both the Channel 4 and the current version of the show; with that said, they are not looking to bring over players from the flagship “Big Brother UK” to take part on this series. That’s probably smart to keep the two separate, especially since it helps to guarantee that the flagship contestants don’t feel like there is an easy way for them to graduate.

Now, is this a great idea? Sure, for diehard fans who’ve been watching the series for a long time. There is something extremely appealing about the idea of some of these people getting the opportunity in order to see some of their old favorites on the show again after a super-long layoff.

Unfortunately, that may be where the “great idea” part of this starts to fall apart. You’re probably going to have to pay a lot more to get some of these people back over the majority of the other contestants — save for maybe someone like Ray J who you wasted a ton of money on — and you’re not going to bring in many new viewers. The benefit that comes from doing a new season of the show is that you are giving yourself a little bit more of an opportunity to capitalize on new fan followings that may not be that familiar with the show.

No matter what is being said about this idea right now, the reality is that there is still a ton of time between now and the summer, when this new season would premiere. That’s a LOT of time for things to change.
