‘The Celebrity Apprentice’ episode 9 preview: Steve Ballmer, Leeza Gibbons stop by

Logo -Tonight, “The Celebrity Apprentice” had itself a self-described “scandal,” but as is usually the case with this particular show, there is not going to be all that much time wasted on it. We’re instead going to be moving forward into two more tasks, including a hilarious one featuring Los Angeles Clippers owner Steve Ballmer.

Here’s a quick note — do the Clippers really need any promotion? Think about that for a minute, given the fact that they’re already one of the better teams in the NBA. If anyone, shouldn’t the teams be helping out the Lakers? They could use the love right now.

As for the other task, that one’s going to be a little bit more in the sales sphere and it will feature a former champion in Leeza Gibbons! It’s crazy to think that it was only two years ago since Leeza won, given that at this point, it actually feels like longer. Leeza is one of the few remnants from the Donald Trump era of this show to actually be showing up this season, which is another reminder to us that the producers are trying to get away from that as much as they can. (Given that we’re seeing a QVC task in the second part of the episode, they pretty much HAD to use her, no?)

Synopsis – “The competition heats up this week as former Microsoft CEO and Los Angeles Clippers owner Steve Ballmer serves as a boardroom advisor to Arnold Schwarzenegger, along with Patrick Knapp Schwarzenegger. The teams have to create a high-energy presentation to promote the Clipper brand and fire up Clipper Nation during a halftime show, as well as designing a T-shirt for fans. While one celebrity contestant goes “full Ballmer” in their presentation and players on the opposing team hope a catchy tune will win over the crowd, another narrowly misses being terminated in the boardroom when they meet with Arnold and the advisors afterward. Later, Emmy Award-winning TV host and last season’s “Celebrity Apprentice” winner, Leeza Gibbons, joins Patrick as a boardroom advisor to Arnold as the teams are tasked with selling fitness equipment on QVC. Racing against the clock, they try to sell as many products as they can in the limited time before facing Arnold for a boardroom shocker.”

One of the things that is so exciting about this season is that the field is for the most part pretty wide-open. We don’t think that there is a clear winner on the field just yet, though clearly there are some people more qualified than others based on what we’ve seen so far.
